Critiques

South Central USA

The following critique is the opinion of the evaluator, and does not reflect any judges opinion.

Best - Sealpoint male - Beneath stud jowels, the head shape is an excellent example of the Snowshoe head. Ears are a nice example of the continuation of the wedge. Muzzle is proportionate with no signs of extreme pinch. Eyes are oval, though the cat is excited, eyecolor is a light blue. Cheekbones are high. Chin is good, though from this photo, it is hard to tell.

Second Best - Bluepoint male - Beneath stud jowls, head shape is an excellent example of the Snowshoe head. Ear set is a good continuation of the wedge, even though his ears are slightly flattened in this photo. Muzzle is proportional with no signs of pinch. Eye shape is oval, but not as good as the best cat's eye shape. Again, cat is startled or excited, which distorts the eye shape. Eye color is a very light blue which is common among dilute colors. Cheekbones are high. Chin is good, chin color is a nice contrast to the white 'v'.

Third Best - Sealpoint female kitten - Evaluation is based on potential, as kittens normally continue to develop up to two years of age. Excellent head, eye, muzzle, eye shape, high cheekbones and ear set. Only time will tell if this evaluation is correct. I could have done another adult, but wanted to show the best.

The following Sealpoint male young cat is nearly as good as the third best kitten. The photo angle makes the muzzle appear to be slightly longer than it is, however the cat is an excellent example of the Snowshoe head. The eye color could be better.

Snoopy's Candyman

Bluepoint male kitten - Is a good example of potential which developed into an excellent adult. As an adult, this cat earned a Quad Grand Champion Alter title in The International Cat Association (TICA). However, his head and muzzle are slightly more narrow than desired.

Snoopy's Chance

The facial pattern may distort the look of the muzzle, making it look either longer or shorter than it actually is.
Also, a photo may distort the view, depending on the angel of the shot.

Sealpoint female kitten - Has a good head, except for slight muzzle pinch. Eyes are oval shaped, showing here as rounder than they are due to excitement.

Blue Point male kitten - Ear set and size are a little off. The rest of the head is good. Eyes are oval, but not as good as the top three. Note: This kitten grew into his ears, and developed into a very good example of the Snowshoe breed.

Different view of the best cat, shows eye shape slgihtly better, but not as good as the real thing.

A younger version of the Second Best. Color of the photo is off, but shows the ear set and head shape better.

Lilac Point female kitten - Eyes are an excellent example of the walnut shape attributed to the Snowshoe, however, very few Snowshoes are found with the walnut shaped eyes, except when excited or startled, the eyes are normally more of an oval shape. Good head, eye, muzzle, eye shape, high cheekbones. Ear set is slightly off, however, this may correct as she grows.

Snoopy's Makiah

Bluepoint female - Very good head, eye, muzzle, eye shape, high cheekbones and ear set. Really nice eye color for a dulute color.

Sealpoing male kitten - Nice potential, except for muzzle which is a little short.
